Patrick Davis, 86, of Council Bluffs died Sunday, November 26, 2000, at Indian Hills Nursing Home in Council Bluffs. He was born Sept. 16, 1914, in Dunlap to Fred and Agnes (Grady) Davis, graduated from Dunlap High School in 1932 and graduated from Boyles Business College. He moved to Council Bluffs in 1941. He was a time keeper for the Union Pacific Railroad for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Holy Family Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 10722. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia C., on Dec. 16, 1973, and his second wife, Eleanor, on June 15, 1995. Survivors include three daughters, JoAnn Priggel of St. Louis, Mary Kay Webb and husband Joseph of Omaha, Neb., and Peggy Arnold and husband Lloyd of Council Bluffs; three sons, Patrick E. and Thomas J. and wife Louetta, all of Council Bluffs and Michael J. of Beebeetown; three stepdaughters, Mary Ann Kuk and husband Bill of Council Bluffs, Joan Slapkauskas of Omaha, Neb., and Susan Burke of San Raphael, Calif; five stepsons, Patrick D. Lawson of Culpepper, Va., Daniel R. Lawson of South Bend, Ind., Thomas K. Lawson and James J. Lawson, both of Sheridan, Wyo., and Terrance J. Lawson and wife Pat of Council Bluffs; a sister-Madeline Snethen and husband Howard of Council Bluffs; five half-sisters, Betty Hartwig and Dorothy Albert, both of Dunlap, Ruth Nagangast and husband Jack of Varina, Sally Ann Mitchell and husband Charles of Dow City and Ila Jane Buffum of Logan; a brother, Jordan and wife Marie of Des Moines; two half-brothers, William Davis of Chicago, Ill., and J! erald Davis and wife Jennie of Mondamin; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A wake service was held Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at Belford-O'Neill Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church in Council Bluffs with the Rev. Ken Gross officiating. Burial was made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Dunlap. Memorials may be offered to Holy Family Church, Queen of the Apostles Church or the St. Albert High School Booster Club, all of Council Bluffs.
