She had been in declining health. Carolyn was born on November 7, 1926, to Morgan and Nellie Torrey in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She graduated from Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln High School in 1944 and was married to Clifford C. Palmer on October 18, 1946, in Council Bluffs. Cliff and Carolyn were longtime residents of Des Moines where they were members of New Hope Assembly of God Church. She worked as a corporate secretary in Omaha and Des Moines and was a church secretary in Des Moines. She loved singing at church and in community events and at the nursing home where she resided the past two years. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford Palmer; a sister, Marion; and a brother, Richard. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen and husband, John Neibergall of New Brighton, Minn., and Nancy Krohn of Minden, Iowa; sister-in-law, Lois Lorenzen of Council Bluffs; five grandchildren; two great granddaughters; several nieces and nephews. Visitation is Friday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer- Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. James Weaver of New Hope Assembly of God Church in Des Moines, will officiate. Memorials to Presbyterian Homes of Roseville.
