Bantam were conducted at 2 p.m. on Jan. 5 at the Presbyterian Church in Orleans, Neb. With Pastor Roger Miller officiating. Interment was in the Orleans Cemetary. Pearl Eleanor Bantam, 88 years of age, of Phillipsburg, Kan. (formerly of Orleans, Neb.) passed away on Dec. 30, 2006 at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg, Kan. Pearl was born Sept. 4, 1918 in Harlan County, south of Orleans, the eldest of five children of Oliver and Gladys (Russell) White. She received her education in Harlan County and later in Stamford. On Dec. 18, 1935 she was united in marriage to Glen W. Bantam at Phillipsburg, Kan. And to this union were born five daughters and five sons. The family made their home on the farm in the Eldorado Township south of Orleans until 1973 when Glen and Pearl moved into Orleans. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Orleans, where she was active in many capacities including the Presbyterian Women and Sunday School Teacher. Pearl was also very involved as a 4-H Leaders, Girls Scout Leader and Band Mother through the years when the children were young, was a charter member of the Orleans Civic Club and member of the Gingham Girls Extension Club. Pearl enjoyed sewing, baking, volunteering with Meals-On-Wheels, quilting and loved to read. On June 29, 2000 she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen. Following Glen's passing, Pearl moved to Phillipsburg, Kan. to be near her youngest daughters. She leaves to mourn her passing her children: daughter, Phyllis Kay Bosley and her husband, Howard of Great Bend, Kan., daughter, Nadine Sue Condello and her husband, Frank of Lincoln, Neb., son, Ernest Oliver Bantam and his wife, Vicky of Spearfish, S.D., daughter, Lela Jean Fidler and her husband, Craig of North Platte, Neb., son, Tony Glen Bantam and his wife, Rita of Woodbine, Iowa, son, Douglas Don Bantam and his wife Julie of Lincoln, Neb., son Eddy Guy Bantam and his wife, Jo of Auburn, Neb., daughter, Merry Dale Jessup and her husband, Rick of Logan, Kan. and daughter, Edith Ann Hopson and her husband, Clark of Phillipsburg, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Jan Bantam of Oxford, Neb.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Gene Bosley and his wife, Cindy and their children: Brandon and Melanie; Bob Bosley and his wife, Tamara and their children: Andrew, Gran and William; Eric Bosley and his wife, Marya and their children: Chancellor, Layne, Wright, Shane and Wynn; Mark Bantam ! and his wife, Amy and their children: Tristan, Teren and Trinity; Debbie Holys and her husband, J.P. and their daughter, Grace; Marla Schoen and her husband, Brad and their children: Megan, Melissa and Makayla; and Paul Bantam and his wife, Darlene and their son, Samuel; Bruce Condello and his wife, Marlene and their children: Kayla and Shelby; and Jason Condello and his wife Maggie; Wendy and Benjamin Bantam, Mia Wald and her husband, Tim; Oliver Bantam; Everett Fidler and his wife, Jeannie and their daughter, Rachel; Carrie Willis and her husband, Brian and their children: Daniel, Trent, Zoe and Ava; Joseph Bantam and his wife, Joni and their children: Brandon, Alexander and Cory; Sally Staben and her husband, Mike and their children: Claire and Jack; Emily Koenig and her husband, Bret and their children: Madeleline, Willa and Lucy; Tena Grossman and her husband, Ed and their children: Zane and Cassius; Erin and Caitlain Bantam; Guy Jessup, Roy Jessup and his wife, Bethan! y and their daughter, Gracie and Dale Jessup; Amy Johnson and her husb and, Dustin and their daughter, Dakota; Neil Hopson and John Hopson; two sisters: Elma Christensen and her husband, Wesley of Orleans and Joyce Almquist of Axtell, Neb.; sisters-in-law: Irene White of Orleans, Eleanor Burchett of Alma, Neb. Besides her husband, Glen was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roger Bantam; two brothers: Done White, Chester White and his wife, Wanda and brother-in-law, Dean Almquist. Mrs. Bantam will lie in state from 1-8 p.m. on Jan. 4 at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Orleans, Neb with the family greeting from 6-7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established in her memory.
