November 27, 1950 - January 11, 2007 The Daily Nonpareil 1/13/2007 David A. Ring, age 56, of Council Bluffs, passed away January 11, 2007, at his home. Dave was born November 27, 1950, in Council Bluffs, to Paul and Phyllis (Matthews) Ring. He grew up in Neola, Iowa, where he attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from Tri-Center High School in 1969. Dave served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for Alford Tire Co., CHC Vending Co. and Manawa Rugs. Dave was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Neola, former honor guard member of the Neola American Legion Post #330, current member of American Legion Post #2 where he served as First Commander. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Ring and nephew, Adam Greiner. Dave is survived by his wife of 14 years, Kathy (Stockton) Ring, daughter Emily Ring and Lance Kramer; sons, Craig Ring, all of Council Bluffs, Brad Ring and Desirae Koenig of Palmyra, Neb.; 6 grandchildren; mother, Phyllis Ring; sisters, Terryl Greiner and husband, Tom, Lori Eckrich and husband, Mike, all of Neola; brothers, Ken Ring and wife, Julie of Papillion, Neb., Mike Ring and wife, Linda of Council Bluffs, Matt Ring of Lincoln, Neb.; stepson, Reese Chatterton of Kansas City, Mo.; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Prayer Service, Sunday, 6:30 p.m followed by visitation until 8:30 p.m. at Queen of the Apostles Church in Council Bluffs. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, 10:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Dan Kirby, Pastor, officiating. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Neola, with military rites tendered by American Legion Post #2. A lunch will follow at the American Legion Hall in Council Bluffs. The family will direct memorials.
