Rosary was held Jan. 11, 2007 at 7 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church and Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Father Don Malin at St. Ann's the following day. Honorary casket bearers were Cody Hinkel, Troy Hinkel, Tim Radebaugh, Ric Radebaugh, Tim Epperson and Tony Woodward. Casket bearers were Cody Giles, Lonnie Adair, Zane Saunders, Bill Cooling, Bernie Newlin and Lou Twombly. Graveside services were held at Grandview Cemetery in Montrose, Colo. Norma was born Jan. 11, 1945 in Omaha, Neb. to William Taylor and Verna Harlan Burgen. She graduated from Logan-Magnolia High School in 1963. On Jan. 11, 1964 she was married to Michael Epperson at St. Patrick's Church in Missouri Valley. They had two boys, Michael and Jeffrey. They made their home in Logan for six years before moving to Loveland, Colo. They lived for a number of years before moving to Montrose, Colo., in May of 1978. Norma enjoyed her grandchildren, cooking, knitting and volunteering at their church. She and Mike were in charge of hospitality and scheduling ushers and greeters. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Mike of Montrose; sons Mike and wife Wendy of Montrose, Jeffery and wife Candy of Delta; step-grandchildren Cody and Marci Giles and grandson Taylor; father-in-law Jerome Epperson of Montrose; sisters Ruby Campbell and Linda Arbaugh both of Nebraska; brothers Art and wife Sandy of Kentucky, Dick and wife Bonnie of Council Bluffs; Jack and wife Marie of Alabama, Chuck and wife Ann of Indiana, and Larry Burgen of Texas; brothers-in-law Larry and wife Velma Epperson, Council Bluffs, Tim and wife Rochelle Epperson of Colorado Springs; sisters-in-law Dolores and husband Bill Radebaugh of Grand Junction, Patricia and husband Art Hinkel of Littleton; many nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by twin infant daughters, five infant siblings, her parents William and Verna Burger, mother-in-law Lorena Epperson, brother-in-law Dennis Arbaugh and brother-in-law Raymond Campbell.
