"Gene" The Daily Nonpareil 2/9/2007 Eugene R. "Gene" Gaver, age 79, passed away February 8, 2007. He was born in Missouri Valley, Iowa on March 10, 1927 to Ray and Leona Gaver. Gene served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1947. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a clerk for 43 years. Gene is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include wife of 22 years Elaine (Binkley), of Council Bluffs, Iowa; son, Ron and wife Denise, of Macedonia, Iowa; daughters, Diane Vallinch, Ronda Richey, Denise Gaver, all of Council Bluffs, Kathy Berry, of Papillion, Neb., Vicky Patano and husband, Lou, of Omaha, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; sister, Arlene Marshall, of Omaha; step sons, Terry Ferrin and wife Barbara, of St. Louis, Mo., Greg Ferrin and wife Elizabeth, of Council Bluffs. Visitation Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Services Monday, 1:00 p.m. at funeral home, Rev. E. Jon Benson, Pastor, Saint John Lutheran Church, officiant. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Rites tendered by American Legion Post #2. Luncheon to follow at American Legion Hall. Memorials to VFW Post #737 preferred.
