A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, at the parish hall at Zion Lutheran Church in Magnolia. Everyone is invited. Dwayne was born February 10, 1943, to Raymond and Doris (Young) Jacobsen near Logan. He attended schools in Magnolia and Logan, graduating from Logan High School in 1960. In his late teens, Dwayne enjoyed working at the Hidden Valley Ranch; later he was employed as a mechanic at a radiator shop, both in Washington State. In the mid-1960s he and Kenny Collins ran a mobile repair business named T.A.T. (Truck, Auto & Tractor) Repair in the Logan area. During the 1970's Dwayne and his friend, Dale Browning, owned and operated the CB Barn in Woodbine. He had also worked for UPS, Capital Construction, and Vulcan Industries. Later in Magnolia, he owned and operated Jacobsen Radiator. When Dwayne moved to Missouri in 1997, he continued to work as a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and boating, especially when the grandkids came to visit, and taking are of his horses. On May 26, 2007, Dwayne and his wife Dottie would have been married 30 years. Jake will be fondly remembers for his honesty, loyal friendships, adventurous outlook, and his great sense of humor. In addition to his wife Dottie, survivors include stepson Willy Ballenger, daughter Brenda Hall and husband Jerry, and their mother Ida, from Washington state; son Shane Moore and wife Lisa and son Heath Jacobsen of California, and their mother Victoria; stepchildren Sandy Preister and husband Tom, Tom Ahlers and wife Bonnie, Patsy Jones and husband John, Terry Ahlers and wife Shelley, and Tammy Allen and husband Tom. Also surviving are stepchildren Pam Hanson and husband Bob, Sarah Mether and husband Doug, Ben Hoffschneider and wife Cindy, and Jonathan Hoffschneider and wife Chantel. Dwayne leaves four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and 23 step-grandchildren. Also left to mourn his passing are one sister, Carol Kelley and husband Charlie, and two nephews, Mark Livengood and Brian Livengood. In addition to his parents, Dwayne was preceded in death by one daughter, Christine Rae, and her mother, Mary Jacobsen, one stepson, Jimmy Ballenger, one brother, Lars Leroy, and one sister, Dianna Rae.
