Burke June 9, 1919 - May 6, 2007 The Daily Nonpareil 5/8/2007 & 5/9/2007 Lillian T. Wheeler, age 87, of Crescent, Iowa, passed away May 6, 2007, at her home. Lillian was born June 9, 1919 in Greeley, Neb., to the late C. Elmer and Esther (Allinder) Burke. She graduated from Stromsburg, Neb., High School in 1937. Lillian married Donald Wheeler March 22, 1942 and to this union six children were born. They lived in Missouri Valley, Iowa before moving to Crescent in 1977. Lillian was a homemaker and master gardner. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women's Assoc. Lillian was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Wheeler; husband, Donald Wheeler on April 8, 2003; two sisters; and one brother. She is survived by four daughters, Nancy Bertacini and husband, Al, of Omaha; Lu Hoogeveen and husband, Kim, of Bellevue, Neb., Sheryl Dinklage, of San Antonio, Texas, Valerie Wheeler-Dial and husband, L.J., of Dallas, Texas; one son, Duane Wheeler and wife, Beth, of Dallas, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two sisters, Martena Rover, of San Diego, Calif., Doris Wood and husband, Jim, of San Jose, Calif.; sister-in-law, Maybelle Burke, of Greeley, Neb.; nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family, Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. at Lillian's residence in Crescent (205 Riordon St.). Funeral Service, Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Glenn Schacht, interim pastor, officiating. Interment Walnut Hill Cemetery with a lunch following at the church. Memorials to Emanuel Lutheran Church preferred.
