Asa was born May 30, 1918 in Modale to Frank and Leona (Pratt) Neff. Asa grew up in the Modale area. In 1942, he joined the U.S. Army and served overseas in the European Theater, spending time in Germany and France. He was married to Doris Martens in December of 1958 in Missouri Valley. He was a mechanic and school bus driver for the Modale schools. Later, he farmed until retirement. Asa loved flying and farming. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Ruth Neff. Survivors include: his wife, Doris, Missouri Valley; brothers, John Neff, Milwaukee, Ore.; Charles Neff and his wife, Ardith, Modale; David Neff and his wife, Madaline, Payton, Colo.; brother-in-law, Harold Martens and his wife, Rosie, Missouri Valley, and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral Services were held Nov. 16 at Hennesseay-Aman Funeral Home, Missouri valley, Pastor Bob Dagit, officiant. Organist was Genelle Riesland. Casket bearers were Bill Neff, Jeff Martens, Jack Martens, Barry Rath, Bob Martens and Steve Axtell. Interment was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Missouri Valley.
