Wohlers, 89, 12/13/2004 Ila R. Wohlers, 89, Logan, died Nov. 26 at Alegent Health Community Memorial Hospital, Missouri Valley. Ila was born Aug. 19, 1915 in Logan to William C. and Florence E. (Frazier) Iddings. She graduated from Logan High School, then attended the University of Iowa, where she received her degrees in English and Social Science. Ila taught for many years before marrying Ted Wohlers, July 3, 1942 in Papillion, Neb. She was very active in 4-H, was news correspondent for many local papers, The Des Moines Register, The Omaha World-Herald, and was news editor and columnist for The Logan Herald-Observer. Ila was head librarian for the Logan Library for 25 years. Ted died Nov. 1, 1977. Ila was a member of the Logan Christian Church, where she remained active for as long as her health permitted. Ila was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ted, and one brother, Glen Iddings. Survivors include two sons, Ted and his wife, Linda, Omaha; and Bill and his wife, Margaret, Denison; two grandchildren, Brian Wohlers and his wife, Michelle, Omaha; and Jennifer Schneider and her husband, Alyn, Denison; and six great-grandchildren, Evan, Jenna, Emily, Austin, Luke and Bennett. Funeral Services were held Nov. 30 at the Logan Christian Church, Pastor Ron Riley, officiant. Pianist was Vicki Koenig. Casket bearers were Rick Oviatt, Bruce Roberts, Brian Wohlers, Court Oviatt, Mark Leonard and Alyn Schneider. Interment was in the Logan Cemetery. Logan Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
