Elizabeth (Lib, as she was known to her friends) was born March 12, 1934 in Missouri Valley to Jesse and Minnie (Blunt) Lytten. She graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1951 and married her high school sweetheart, William E. (Bill) Harder, Nov. 9, 1952. She worked for 31 years in the Harrison County Auditor's office at the courthouse in Logan. She was the elected County Auditor (a Republican) for 30 years, retiring at the end of 1992. Lib loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them whenever she could. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Clarence and his wife, Berniece, Sioux City; and sister, Gladys Woody, Omaha. Survivors include: her husband, Bill, Missouri Valley; daughters, Debra Gardner and her husband, Mike, Missouri Valley; Joni Lowry and her husband, Bill, Des Moines; grandchildren, Scott Gardner, Las Vegas, Nev.; Kelli Gardner, Des Moines; Lauren Rhoten, Des Moines; Clair Rhoten, Des Moines; one great-grandchild, Taylor Rogers, Missouri Valley; brothers, Jesse Lytten, Jr., and his wife, Shirley, Las Alamos, N.M.; Robert Lytten and his wife, Jane, Missouri Valley; brother-in-law, Gerald Woody, Omaha; wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 12, at the First United Methodist Church, Missouri Valley, with a Memorial Service to follow at 7:30, with the Rev. Bob Dagit offering Words of Com! fort. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of refreshment and fellowship at the United Methodist Church following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Easter Seals Camp Sunnyside, Des Moines. Arrangements are by Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home, Missouri Valley.
