Marvin was born Oct. 29, 1950 in Missouri Valley to Marvin M. and Martha (Smith) Jones. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Marvin worked for Pinkerton Security in Cedar Rapids before moving to Council Bluffs, where he worked for Pinkerton, which became Securitist Security Co. Marvin owned and operated A-1 Small Engine Repair, Missouri Valley, and he loved his pickup and working on it. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha, and his grandparents. Survivors include: his children, Ann Collier and her husband, Steve, Missouri Valley; Marvin Jones, Jr., and his friend, Amber, Little Sioux; Clint Jones, Dunlap; Michelle Matusick, Omaha; his father, Marvin M. Jones, Missouri Valley; sisters, Pat Hiles, Cedar Rapids; Shirley Rowe of Oklahoma; Alice Cross, Council Bluffs; and Ada Isom, Missouri Valley; and grandchildren, Robbie, Jessie, Kathy, Tabbatha, Elizabeth and Hailey. Funeral Services will be held today (Wednesday, Nov. 17) at 10 a.m. at the Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home, Missouri Valley, Pastor Curtis Brown, officiant. Casket bearers will be Kris Allen, Dallas Clemons, Steve McDonald, Steve Collier, Danny Tiffey, and Pat Virgimini. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Missouri Valley.
