My family moved here in the 1950's and I have always been interested in the history of Hardscratch. The two cemetaries that are close (Bethel and Harris Grove) are full of Hardscratch pioneers. Also we have a couple things in common. My wifes great grandfather(Swanger) was also a blacksmith in Hardscratch and my family on dads side came from Bohemia which of course is now Czechoslovokia.
