Daily Nonpareil Council Bluffs IAA Jan 4th, 2004 Dorothy G. Darrington, 83, of Neola died Jan. 2 at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley. She was born May 24, 1921, in Persia to Ferdinand and Anna (Sanders) Foje. She lived in Neola for many years. She was a 1939 graduate of Logan High School. She was a teacher in rural farm schools for four years and a homemaker. She was of the Lutheran faith. Mrs. Darrington and her husband, Howard E. Darrington, were married Feb. 28, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Ardo Koenig and Elvin Foje. Survivors in addition to her husband include daughters, Colleen Torneten and husband, Roger, of Neola and Dianne Sorensen and husband, Dr. Dennis, D.V.M., of Hornick; sons, Arlan Darrington and wife, Marsha, and Craig Darringotn and wife, Connie, all of Neola, and Keith Darrington and wife, Thereasa, of Council Bluffs; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma O'Neill, and husband, Harold, of Logan; nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Eberhard A. Hering of Underwood Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Grange Cemetery in rural Honey Creek with a lunch following at St. John Lutheran Church in Honey Creek. Memorials may be offered to Neola Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department.
