Daily Nonpareil Council Bluffs IA Apr 21, 2004 Lorna J. Johnson, 81, of Council Bluffs died April 20 at Risen Son Nursing Home. She was born May 24, 1922, in Logan to John H. and Juanita (Grossmann) Koenig. She graduated in 1940 from Logan High School. She was the bookstore manager at Iowa Western Community College for 20 years, retiring in 1987. After her retirement she worked at Hy Vee grocery store demonstrating products. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, American Business Women and served as an election volunteer. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Corrine Arndt. Survivors include daughter, Connie Pires and husband, Manuel, of Modesto, Calif.; sons, Jim Johnson and wife, Laurie, of Omaha and Steve Johnson of Missouri Valley; five grandchildren; sister, Herma Lane, and husband, Ralph, of Missouri Valley; former son-in-law, John Fiscalini, of Modesto, Calif. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Paul Crane, chaplain at Risen Son Christian Village, officiating. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery with a lunch following at St. John Lutheran Church.
