Griffis, 64 April 02, 2004 Anthony R. (Tony) Griffis, 64, Modale, died March 21 at Alegent Health Community Memorial Hospital, Missouri Valley. Anthony was born Oct. 20, 1939 at Maricopa, Calif. to Ethmer R. and Maybelle F. (Matranga) Griffis. he graduated from the Bakersfield (Calif.) High School, and served as a Captain with the Merchant Marine. He was married to Linda Friend, April 9, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nev. He was employed by N.P. Dodge Real Estate Co., Missouri Valley. Anthony enjoyed sailing, reading, wine and was a W.W. II buff. Survivors include: His wife, Linda, Modale; children, Toni Schultz, Folsom, Calif.; Vicki Kizer, Apple Valley, Calif.; Cory Williams, Stanton; Tammy Melvin, Carthage, N.C.; Tracy Goldman, Ventura, Calif.; brother, Greg Griffis, Walnut Grove, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral; Services were held March 25 at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home, Missouri Valley, Pastor Robert H. Kruempel of St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiant. Military honors were conducted by Julius F.
