DeWitt, 86 April 14, 2004 Iona Bond DeWitt, 86, Logan, died April 5 at Westmont care center. Iona was born Oct. 23, 1917 in Arthur, to Lloyd A. and Bessie M. (Purdy) fetter. She attended school in Logan and graduated from Logan High School. Iona was married to Ross Franklin DeWitt in 1938 at Dunlap. She was employed with the Logan school system for 25 years, working as a secretary. She retired in 1988. Ross died in 1977. Iona was a member of the Methodist Church, Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ross. Survivors include: son, Don DeWitt and his wife, LuRay, Durango, Colo.; daughter, Linda Thomas, Omaha; sisters, Mary Jo Fountain, Lincoln, Neb.; Berneil Faubian, El Cajon, Calif.; Vivian Scheel, Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Rex Fetter, Logan; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held today (Wednesday, April 7) at the United Methodist Church, Logan, at 10 a.m., Pastor Marv Siems, officiant. Interment will be in the Logan Cemetery. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the church following the committal service. Logan Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
