Daily Nonpareil Council Bluffs IA April 14th, 2004 Larry E. "Peeley" Peterson, 67, of Council Bluffs died April 13 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital. He was born June 26, 1936, in Logan to William and Ruth (Martin) Peterson. He moved to Council Bluffs in 1985. He was a 1955 graduate of Logan High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a truck driver for various truck lines for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 737 and the Teamsters Union. Mr. Peterson and his wife, Linda J. (Carlson), were married 39 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and his daughter, Debra Peterson in 1972. Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Teresa "Teri" Peterson and Michelle Peterson, both of Council Bluffs; two grandchildren, Amber and Trenton Peterson; sister, Shirley Robinette, of Twin Falls, Idaho; two half-sisters. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date in the Logan Cemetery.
