Murphy of Omaha, Neb., was held Saturday, December 23, 2000, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap. Rev. Paul Strittmatter of-ficiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Musician was Marilyn Grote and Jerry Baldwin was vocalist. Interment was made in Woodbine Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Brad Harm, Greg Harm, Joe Murphy, Tom Murphy, Hal Seaman. Pallbearers were John Evans, Richard Gross, Rob King, Russ King, Joe Murphy, Jason Roden. Fouts Funeral Home of Dunlap/Woodbine was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Methodist Home Health Hospice, 12033 Shamrock Plaza, Omaha, Neb. 68154-3533. Leo was born January 25, 1936 in Dunlap to parents, Walter Leo and Marguerite Hanora (Tierney) Murphy. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1954. Leo worked for a seed company and the Schemmer Rock Quarry in Logan right after graduating from school. December 1, 1956 Leo married Betty Barry at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Woodbine. In 1958, he went to work for Safeway Grocery Stores in Fort Dodge as a truck driver. In 1960, the family was transferred to Omaha, Neb., where Leo was the distribution center supervisor and in 1981 they transferred to Seattle where he was the produce warehouse manager. In 1984, they transferred to Salt Lake City and in 1987 to Denver as a truck supervisor. Leo retired from Safeway in November of 1995 and the couple returned to Omaha. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Omaha; he had been a member of the Knights of Columbus and was the President of the Safeway Credit Union in the 1970's. Leo died Thursday, December 21, 2000, at his home in Omaha, Neb. Leo was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, one in infancy and Catherine Gard and brother, John Murphy. Leo is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Murphy of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Cindi and her husband Wayne Harm of Omaha, Neb., Diana and her husband Lonnie Abelbeck of Mohnton, Pa., Kim and her husband Rick Page of Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandchildren, Trisha, Kimberly and Brad Harm; two sisters, Rosalie Sennett of Mesa, Ariz., and Geraldine Alcantar of Des Moines; two brothers, Joe Murphy and his wife Debbie of Omaha, Neb., and Tom Murphy and his wife Maxine of Dunlap and many other relatives and friends.
