Daily Nonpareil Council Bluffs IA November 28th, 2004 Erma F. Fairman, 93, of Council Bluffs died Nov. 25 at Woodlands Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 26, 1911, in rural Harrison County to George and Anna Olsen. She had been an employee of the Chieftain Hotel, Omaha Credit Bureau, Brodkey Jewelry and Cogley Clinic until her retirement. She was a former local and state president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the National Association of Letter Carriers. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold and Elmer Olsen; and her husband, Walter, in 1989. Survivors include a son, Loyal Fairman; two daughters, Joyce Maurer and Mary and husband, Bob Poe, of Council Bluffs; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Family visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. today at Henry-Livingston Funeral Chapel, 121 S. Seventh St. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Chaplain John Farrell of Hospice Preferred Choice officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to Woodlands Rehabilitation Center or Hospice Preferred Choice.
