Johnston, 84 May 26, 2004 Edna Mae (Gahm) Johnston, 84, Little Sioux, died May 10 at Creighton Medical Center, Omaha. Edna was born October 14, 1919 at Little Sioux, the daughter of Charles Ransom and Kate (Reddling) Gahm. She was raised and educated in Little Sioux and graduated with the class of 1938 from Little Sioux High School. She married Richard Johnston July 29,1938 in Logan. The couple made their home In Little Sioux and Edna enjoyed being a mother and housewife. Richard died Sept. 13, 2002 at Missouri Valley. Edna was a member of Little Sioux Prayer Group. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Valarie Nuzum, Ruby Hornbeck and Marjorie Molle; and five brothers, Howard, Raymond, Lloyd, Kenneth (Bill); and Ed Gahm. Survivors include a son, Leroy Johnston and a daughter, Karen Johnston, both of Little Sioux; three grandchildren, Jeff Abels, Troy Abels and Kammy Abels Oliver; and five great grandchildren, Niki, Brett and Arie Abels and Lathen and Conner Oliver. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., today ( Friday, May 14) at the Church of Christ in Little Sioux, Pastor Wayne Bahr, officiant. Tammi Mether will be soloist and Leota Mether, organist. Casket bearers will be Tony Abels, Jeff Abels, Ed Beers, JoDean Gahm, Harlan Gahm and Darrell Nuzum. Interment will be in the Little Sioux Cemetery.
