Jones, 71 April 30, 2004 Larry Dean Jones, 71, Council Bluffs, died April 18 at his home. Larry was born June 21, 1933 on a farm near Magnolia to Lyle G. and A. Maxine (Harris) Jones. He was a 1950 graduate of Missouri Valley High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a truck driver. He retired in 1995. Larry was married to Betty Jean Birdsall, Dec. 3, 1954. The couple was married for 49 years. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean, Council Bluffs; daughters, Kelly Stewart, Graham, Wash.; and Terry Williamson and her husband, Dave, Council Bluffs; son, Larry (L.G.) Jones and his wife, Colleen, Omaha; and five grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held today (Wednesday, April 21) at 3 p.m. at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Chapel, Council Bluffs, the Rev. Roger Prescott, officiant. Inurnment will be in the Magnolia Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to Hospice, Alegent Health Care, 7070 Spring St., Omaha, NE 68106.
