Johnson, 81 May 04, 2004 Lorna J. Johnson, 81, Council Bluffs, died April 20 at Risen Son Nursing Home. Lorna was born May 24, 1922, in Logan to John H. and Juanita (Grossmann) Koenig. She graduated in 1939 from Logan High School, and was the bookstore manager at Iowa Western Community College for 20 years, retiring in 1987. After her retirement she worked at Hy Vee grocery store demonstrating products. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, American Business Women and served as an election volunteer. Lorna was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Corrine Arndt. Survivors include daughter, Connie Pires and her husband, Manuel, Modesto, Calif.; sons, Jim Johnson and his wife, Laurie, Omaha; and Steve Johnson, Missouri Valley; five grandchildren; sister, Herma Lane, and her husband, Ralph, Missouri Valley; and former son-in-law, John Fiscalini, Modesto, Calif. Visitation with the family will be today (Friday, April 23) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home, Council Bluffs. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 24 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, Paul Crane, chaplain at Risen Son Christian Village, officiant. Interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Council Bluffs, with a luncheon following at St. John Lutheran Church, Council Bluffs. Memorials may be given to Iowa Wesern Community College or Hospice.
