Daily Nonpareil Council Bluffs IA June 2, 2004 Lois E. Tennigkeit, 62, of Underwood died May 30 at home. She was born April 5, 1942, in Persia to W.F. "Hines" and Elceda (Foje) Hansen. She lived in Persia most of her life, moving to Underwood three years ago. She was a 1960 graduate of Persia High School. She was a farm wife/homemaker and cook at the Club 191, Kopper Kettle and the Water Hole. She sold Studio Girl Cosmetics and later worked at World Insurance as a telephone interviewer. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Persia. She was an avid painter, crafter and country western dancer. Mrs. Tennigkeit was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Tennigkeit, on Nov. 27, 1990. She was also preceded by parents and sister, Shari Ledford, in March of 2004. Survivors include daughter, Debra L. Forsberg, and husband, Daniel, of Glenwood; son, Mark A. Tennigkeit, and wife, Laura, of Underwood; five grandchildren; three brothers, William Hansen and wife, Janice, of Omaha, Robert Hansen and wife, Julie, of Persia and Terry Hansen of House Springs, Mo.; nieces and nephews. Special thanks to family and dear friends who assisted Lois over the last several years. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Persia with the Rev. Dr. E.A. Hering officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Persia, with a lunch following at the PIC Hall in Persia. Memorials may be offered to St. John's Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.
