Robert was born Oct. 13, 1934. He married Alvira Gramkow. The couple farmed in the Persia and Portsmouth areas. They retired from farming in 1970, and they moved to Woodbine in November of 1978. He is survived by Alvira, his wife of nearly 70 years; two daughters, Beverly and her husband, Merle Phillips, Atlantic; LaVonne and her husband, Wayne Miller, Persia; son, Dr. Gary Janssen, and his wife, Dawn, Indianola; six granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sister, Alma Dau, Chadron, Neb.
