Perkins, 88 June 07, 2004 Evelyn Mae Perkins, 88, Colorado Springs, Colo., died May 5 while in hospice care at Alterra Wynwood. Evelyn was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Missouri Valley, to Walter and Mae Roden. Evelyn was an executive secretary to the manager of the Boulder Credit Bureau. She and her husband later owned the Red Top Motel in Estes Park before moving to Colorado Springs in 1976. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, The Pathfinders Sunday School Class, the Kinnikinnik Chapter of the DAR, and the Legion Auxiliary in Boulder, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 1992. They were married May 1, 1937, in Council Bluffs. Survivors include a son, Larry, and daughter-in-law, Joan, Colorado Springs; two sisters, Phyllis Jensen and Lucille Green, Council Bluffs; two grandchildren, Michelle Hall and her husband, Chris, Harlingen, Texas, Jonathan Perkins, Omaha and one great-granddaughter, Charis, Harlingen, Texas. After private services, interment was at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colo.
