Daily Nonpariel Council Bluffs IA June 19th, 2004 Ronald "Max" Jones, 72, of Council Bluffs died June 17 at home. He was born Feb. 24, 1932, in Riverton to Orval and Anna I. (Baker) Jones. He was a high school graduate and attended college for three years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a self-employed petroleum jobber and owner of Jones Oil Co. He owned gas stations in Missouri Valley, Adel, Council Bluffs and Omaha from 1969-90. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his son, Gene Randall Jones, in 1981 and brother, Harry Jones. Survivors include his wife, Carol (Stanley) Jones; daughter, Michelle Allen and husband, Laurence; sons, Todd Jones and Kyle Jones and wife, Jill; grandchildren, twins Tyler and Bradley Allen, Lauren Allen and Cameron Jones; sisters, Virginia Johnston and husband, James, Lois Perkins and husband, Jesse, and Clarabelle Mohatt and husband, Frank Jr.; brother, Wayne Jones, and wife, Shirley; aunt, Edith Parkinson. There will be no visitation; the body has been cremated. Memorial service will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with Chaplain Larry Harrold of Odyssey Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military rites conducted by Shenandoah American Legion Post No. 88. Lunch will follow at the United Methodist Church in Shenandoah. Memorials may be offered to Odyssey Hospice.
