Adams, 86 June 07, 2004 Charley S. Adams, 86, died May 20 at his home in Blair. Charley S. Adams was born Feb. 6, 1918, near Onawa, to Major and Grace (Johnson) Adams. August 24, 1940, he married Shirley Wells in Sidney. The couple farmed in the Fort Calhoun area until 1963. They then moved to Blair, where Charley began working for the Nebraska Road Department, where he was a foreman. He retired from the road department in 1983. Charley was preceded in death by a son, Steven; two brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Karen Adams, Omaha and Ronda Dryden, Blair; son, Mark Adams, Blair; six grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Inez and Duane Layton, Modale; Eunice and Clifford Stueve, Missouri Valley; and Maxine Osburn, Rogers, Ark.;and brother, Donald Adams, Modale.
