Eleanor L. Schleidt, 79, of Council Bluffs died Friday of natural causes at Risen Son Nursing Home. She was born on Jan. 16, 1925, in Dow City to Charles and Edna (Head) Rigsby, and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1943. A homemaker and quilter, she had lived in Council Bluffs since 1949. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, St. Ann's Altar and the Rosary Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Schleidt Sr., on Sept. 24, 1974, her parents and a grandson, Matthew Schleidt. Survivors include daughter Suzanne Foote and husband Daniel of Council Bluffs; sons Ray Schleidt Jr. of Goodwell, Okla., Mike Schleidt and wife Sue of Atlanta, and Tim Schleidt of Council Bluffs; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and sister Patricia Nutt and husband Robert of Dunlap. A funeral Mass is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Rev. Chuck Kottas, pastor, will be the celebrant. A luncheon will follow the service in St. Peter's Social Hall. A prayer service will be held 7 p.m. Monday at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with visitation following until 8:30. Burial is planned for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Cometary in Dunlap. Memorials may be offered to St. Peter's Catholic Church.
