Daily Nonpareil Council Bluffs IA Aug 17th, 2004 MISSOURI VALLEY - Richard L. "Dick" Johnson, 68, of Missouri Valley died Aug. 15 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley. Dick joined the Iowa Conservation Commission, (now known as the Department of Natural Resources) in October of 1964 and became the Game Warden for Harrison and Shelby counties for 37 years, until his retirement in December of 2000. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Jean Elbert Johnson of Missouri Valley; daughter, Nancy Jane Johnson Abel and husband, Michael E., of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sons, Richard LeRoy Johnson Jr. and wife, Grace Yeung, of Bloomington, Minn., Bruce James Johnson of Omaha; grandchildren, Andrew, Aaron, and Allison Abel and Kiera and Kirsten Johnson; mother, Leona Johnson, of Armstrong; brother, Jerry James Johnson, of Cortez, Colo. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Missouri Valley. Military honors will be conducted by the Julius F. Muller American Legion of Missouri Valley. Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
