Bower in Watts, Okla. Abby and her sister Alberta Lee were born 16 months apart and many thought they were twins. She lived her first 10 years in Watts, Okla. Then the family moved a number of times. Later on she went to live with her grandmother and Uncle Jay in Kansas City. Abby graduated from Central High School in Kansas City. She entered the United States Marine Corp and was trained on Paris Island. Abby married Jerry Daniel. Abby lived in Burbank, Calif., and worked as a stenographer for the Federal Aviation Agency. Then she moved back to Iowa to Pilot Mound, Des Moines, and the Knoxville VA Home before moving to the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunlap, Iowa, in 2000. Abby enjoyed crocheting, reading and she loved her soap operas. Abby was saved in 1946 at a revival at Green Valley School. Abby died Monday, March 5, 2007, on her nephew Ben's birthday, at the Dunlap Nursing ! and Rehab Center in Dunlap, Iowa, attaining the age of 73 years and three months. Preceding her in death were her parents, John F. "Fred" Brower in 1946 and Rebecca "Reba" Brower in 1981; brother, Eugene Joslyn Brower; two infants; and a nephew, Edmond Eugene Brower. She is survived by her sister, Alberta and her husband Allan Blood of Ogden, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Connie Jean Zellmer of Layton, Okla., Rebecca Elizabeth Wallace of Callender, Iowa, Benjamin Alan Westcot of Ely, Iowa, Melinda Leigh Cisco of Webster City, Iowa, Jonathan Eric Westcot of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jennifer Wendy Weeler of Ogden, Iowa, Valerie Alana Emswiler of Denison, Iowa, Kimberly Vanessa Kersey of Ankeny, Iowa and Tamara Suzannah DeBoef of Ankeny, Iowa. Funeral services were held at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunlap, Iowa, Thursday, March 8, 2007, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Kent Wallace officiating. Selections included "The Lord's Prayer," "Amazing Grace" and "I'll Fly Away." Pallbearers were Dunlap American Legion Post #224. Military graveside rites were provided by Dunlap American Legion Post #224. Interment was made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap, Iowa. Fouts Funeral Home of Dunlap was in charge of arrangements.
