Mass of Christian Burial was held March 7 at St. Patrick's Church in Missouri Valley with Celebrant Father Mike Berner. Organist was Lyle Waterhouse and vocalist Jeannie Rowell. Honorary bearers were Wes Hall, Floyd Flint and Roy Breeling. Casket bearers were Marty Carritt, Mark Flint, Rex Flint, Rod Foutch, Dan Carritt, Dwight Evers, Bruce Flint and Scott Clark. Final resting place was the Little Sioux Cemetery in Little Sioux. Charles was born Jan. 22, 1930 in Scottsbluff, Neb. to Malcom Charles and Alice M. (Dunkle) Earleywine. He was raised in Little Sioux and graduated from Little Sioux High School in 1947. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1947, and was detached to the United Nations where he served in the Middle East and was honorably discharged in August 1951. On Jan. 10, 1953 he married the love of his life, Anne McColley in Mondamin, and to this union five children were born. Through the years Charles worked as a heavy machine operator and truck driver most of his life. In recent years he was employed by McCord Trucking of Pisgah. Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family and attending their sporting events. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons. Charles was a member of the American Legion Little Sioux Post 410, had served on the Little Sioux City Council, Little Sioux Fire Department and was president of the Little Sioux Homecoming Association. Survivors include his wife Anne of Little Sioux; children Sue Anne Breeling of Corpus Christi, Texas, Charles Howard Earleywine and wife Deborah of Missouri Valley, Elaine Green and husband Bruce of Primghar, Mike Earleywine and wife Debbie of Omaha, Neb., Rod Earleywine and wife Molly of Sargeant Bluff; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters Donna Schneider of Fremont, Neb., Dixie Little of Little Sioux, Nadine Breyfogle of Missouri Valley, Marilyn Cooper of Little Sioux, Carolyn Bellville of Mondamin. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ira Lee Waters and stepfather Ira Faris. Military rites were conducted by the U. S. Marine Corps, Engineer Maintenance Company, Omaha, Neb.
