Helen was born July 28, 1914 in Greencastle, Mo., to the late Dillard Vernon and Gladys (Crawford) Mardis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Rev. K. Vernon Taylor in 2004; 3 brothers; 1 sister; grandson, Robert D. Taylor; and son-in-law, Alan Scott. Survivors include a son, David Taylor and wife, Marilyn, of Neola, Iowa; daughter, Nancy Guhl and husband, Bob of Grandbury, of Texas; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family, Tuesday, 7-8:30 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Graveside service and burial, Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. at the Greeencastle, Missouri Cemetery. Memorials to Odyssey Hospice or your favorite charity.
