Jan. 5, 1937 - March 19, 2007 Logan Herald-Observer 3/28/2007 Carl F. Wilson, 70, of Persia, died March 19, 2007 at home in Persia. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. March 23 at the Logan Memorial Chapel with Pastor Connie O. McWilliams officiating. Organist was Barb Sherer and vocalists Bob Fisher, Keith Wilson, Matt Fisher, and Katherine Fisher. Selections were, "In the Garden," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "The Dance." Honorary bearers were McKinley Wilson, Tim Basch, Chisum Wilson, and Albert Wehrli. Casket bearers were Brian Fisher, Matt Fisher, Carly Redinbaugh, Mike Wilson, Keith Wilson, and Dave Wilson. Final resting place was Valley View Cemetery near Persia. Carl was born Jan. 5, 1937 in Persia to Earnest L. and Camilla (Netsch) Wilson. He married Georgene McKeighan March 1, 1958 in Harlan. Carl farmed in the Persia area all of his life. He enjoyed tinkering with old tractors, going to auctions, flea markets and visiting with friends. Survivors include his wife Georgene of Persia; daughters Carla Beckendorf and husband Russ of Milford, Gayla Fisher and husband Bob of Persia; son Dale and wife Stephanie of Yutan, Neb.; sister Delores Basch and husband Fred of Council Bluffs; brother LaVern Wilson and wife Murlene of Persia; six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, brother Johnny and sister Lois Archer. Memorials may be given to the Shelby County Hospice. Military honors were by Persia Post 314.
