Daily Nonpareil Council Bluffs IA Oct 12th, 2004 Esther L. Broughton, 83, of Modale died Oct. 10 at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha. Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hartzell; sister, Maxine Malone; and brother William "Bud" Parks. Survivors include her sister, Bernice Stanley of Oregon; sister-in-law, Shirley Turner of Onawa; brothers-in-law, Ellsworth Broughton and Herbert Broughton, both of Modale; children: Joanne Crosgrove and husband, Don, of Modale, Maureen Crosgrove and husband, Ray, of Marathon, David R. Zortman and wife, Victoria, of Jasper, Ga., Brian Zortman and wife, Ann, of Modale, Lou Wanda Duff and husband, Alexander, of Council Bluffs, Carolyn Kay Falke and husband, David, of Omaha, Sharon E. Murphy of Council Bluffs, Hartzell Dean Broughton and wife, Janet, of Newport, N.C., James Craig Broughton and wife, Christa, of Tampa, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Church of Christ in Modale. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
