He was raised in the Dunlap area and attended country school. Frank farmed with his brothers for many years and then began working at Schemmer Rock Quarry in Logan. Frank married Delories May Thoms on July 14, 1966, in Avoca, Iowa. Frank retired from Schemmer's in 1992. Delories died on February 14, 2004. Frank was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his family-especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed drives in the country, mushroom hunting, having coffee with friends, and all the activity at the Moorhead Sale Barn. Frank died on Monday, March 26, 2007, at his home in Dunlap, Iowa, attaining the age of 78 years, one month, and 13 days. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Delories; one brother, Roger Schlensig; one sister-in-law, Wilma Schlensig; and two nephews, Ronnie Baxter and David Schlensig. He is survived by three daughters, Joanna and her husband Karl Heiman of Dunlap, Iowa, Janice and her husband John Hennings of Charter Oak, Iowa, Carol and her husband Chris Mueller of Ricketts, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Robert Schlensig and his wife Evelyn of Dunlap, Iowa; and many other relati! ves and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at St. John Lutheran Church in Dunlap, Iowa, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Carla Ingebretsen officiating. Musicians were Jean Dommer and BJ Jones for "Amazing Grace." Interment was made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Heiman, Jessica Heiman, Ethan Heiman, Justin Heiman, Austin Hennings, Ashley Hennings, Aaron Hennings, Kenneth Mueller, Cassandra Mueller. Pallbearers were Cody Malone, BJ Jones, Ken Hicks, Shane Kepford, Bill Anderson, Larry Schlensig. Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap was in charge of the arrangements.
