E. Irwin of Logan was drowned this afternoon about 3 o'clock, at the I.C. Bridge south of Logan. The family recently moved from Wahoo, Nebr., to Logan and is not very well known. Up until five o'clock search for the body had brought no results and search will be continued all night if necessary. Carl was between the ages of 15 and 17 years. Further particulars will be given tomorrow. Ibid, page 8 Funeral services of Carl Irwin, the 17 year old boy drowned in the deep hole of the Boyer River, yesterday afternoon, has not been fully planned as all members of the family have not arrived at Logan; however, the funeral may be held tomorrow. Though there are many conflicting stories as to the cause of the boy's drowning yet the boy's comrades say that he either swam or waded out to the deep hole and went down, and that they were unable to rescue him. Scores of men and boys worked for the recovery of the body for over two hours before Louis A. Wilson went down into the deep hole and found and brought the body to the surface of the water.
