Ulmer, 83, formerly of Dunlap, Iowa died on Sunday, April 8th, 2007 at his caretaker's home in Council Bluffs. Gene served in WWII and was a Prisoner of War. He worked as a motorcycle mechanic and at the Post Office in Bellevue. He worked as a custodian at the Boyer Valley Schools and at the Schaben Livestock Auction in Dunlap. Gene is survived by 2 sons, Randy and Garrald Ulmer; four daughters, Judy Gerhart, Michelle Holmes, Jeana Ulmer and Amanda Ulmer; four step-children; 22 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; five sisters, Linda Gerhart, Doris Goeser, Shirley Hare, Marjorie Melby and Betty Kissel; and one brother, Max Ulmer. Visitation with the family from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Fouts Funeral Home, Dunlap, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Dunlap.
