Surnames: Earnest, Mann Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0k.2ADE/4108 Message Board Post: The Missouri Valley Times, Oct. 23, 1885 At the residence of her son in law, Harvey Mann in this city, on Tuesday, October 20, 1885, Mrs. Nancy Earnest, aged 80 years after a lingering illness of seven months. The deceased was born in South Carolina in 1805 and came to Harrison county in 1855, where she lived until her death. Her funeral was largely attended. The funerals address was preached by Rev. Hestwood of the M. E. church. The remains were buried in Magnolia cemetery. She leaves three sons and five daughters to mourn her loss. Harvey Mann desearves great credit for the manner in which he treated the deceased during her long illness. He has had the entire burden of her care on his shoulders, and he has nobly performed that duty. CARDS of THANKS We wish to thank the many neighbors and friends who kindly assisted us during the last sickness of Mrs. Earnest. May they find as true friends when the grim destroyer visits them --which we hope will be many days yet -- and may He who heals all wounds be kind to them in their hour of adversity.
