She donated her body to scientific research at the University of Nebraska. No memorial service is planned at this time. Delores was born June 30, 1926 in the Hardscratch area. Her parents wre Paul and Ina (Fountain) Foutch. She attended Mt. Hope country school, and graduated from Logan High School in 1944. She attended business school in Omaha, working as a bookeeper for an oil company until her marriage to Robert Coy Birks Aug. 22, 1948. Delores worked as a secretary for the Omaha Public School District and retired in 1987 after 20 years of service. She enjoyed camping, golf and dancing. She and her husband enjoyed travel and did so extensively after their retirement. Besides her husband, Delores was preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin, Max, Karol and Dale and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Foutch. Survivors include her son Roger Birks, and wife Jewell of Lincolnton, Ga.; daughter Diane Sievers and husband Jim, grandchildren Kevin, Daniel and Melissa Sievers of Fresno, Calif., sister-in-law Louise Foutch of Logan, nieces, nephews and friends.
