Valley, Friday, October 16, 1885, of typhoid fever, Webster Pond, after an illness of several days. The deceased was buried Sunday under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge. The following resolutions were passed by the lodge after the funeral: Whereas, It has pleased the Architect of the universe to remove from our midst our late Brother Webster S. Pond, and whereas it is proper we should place on record our esteem for him as a brother and an expression of sorrow at the sad event of his death. Therefore be it resolved by Valley Lodge No. 232, A. F. & A. M., that while we bow with humble submission to Him who doeth All things well, we do not the less mourn for our brother who has been called from labor to refreshment by the Supreme Grand Master. Resolved, That in the death of Brother Pond, this society loses a valuable brother the community a worthy citizen and his family a dutiful husband and loving father. Resolved, That this Lodge tender its heart felt sympathy ! to the family of our deceased brother in this their sad affliction. Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family of deceased, a copy sent to the Lodge of which he was a member and published in the Missouri Valley Times and Harrison Co. News.
