"Jesse", "Jim" James, Jr., age 67, of Missouri Valley, passed away December 2, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. Jesse was born July 7, 1939 in Council Bluffs to Willard Martin and Velda Mae (Scoular) James, Sr. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1957 and served our country in the United States Marine Corp from 1957-1960 as a lance corporal. He was stationed in California and Okinawa. From 1964-1965 he owned and operated Eagle Private Detective Services. In 1965 he became a car inspector for the Union Pacific Railroad retiring in 1992. His true life passion was hunting and fishing. Jesse was a professional hunting guide and commercial fisherman. His love for conservation was shown by his years of membership to Ducks Unlimitied (DeSoto Bend Chapter and Blair, Neb., Chapter where he was a charter member), and Pheasants Forever (Boyer Valley Chapter). He valued the conservation of land and wildlife and held a high integrity in the ethics of hunting and fishing sh! own by his teaching of hunting safety for the State of Iowa for over 20 years. Jesse was also a member of the Eagles Club. He was preceded in death by his father, daughters, LaCinda Marie James at infancy and Lacrutia Page James. Jesse is survived by his daughters, Martie Mae Chauvin and husband Roger, of Missouri Valley, Dawn Marie Perkins and husband John, Renee Gaffney, all of Omaha; sons, Mark James, Sr. and wife Cindy, Roy Wachner, all of Council Bluffs, Randy Wachner, of Dallas, Ga., Reagan Wachner, of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Anthony and Amber Chauvin, Mark James, Jr., Chasity Ann James, Matthew and Andrew Rutledge, Christine Perkins, Ryan, Andrew, and Taylor Campagna, Rachael Gaffney, Jessica Steer, Joseph, Johnathan, Christopher, Nicole, Chantel, Jordan and Kenny Wachner; 8 great grandchildren; mother, Velda Mae James, of Council Bluffs; brothers, Marvin James and wife Kathy, Gary James, all Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews. Visitation with the Family, Wednes! day, 6-8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer- Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Service, Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary with Rev. John Hill officiating. Interment Neola, Iowa Township Cemetery with military rites tendered by the Neola American Legion Post # 330. A lunch will follow at the Council Bluffs Eagles Club. The family will direct memorials.
