She was raised in Missouri Valley and graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1953. Shirley married Glenn Pape, Sr. on September 12, 1953. The couple lived in Logan, Woodbine, and Dunlap. Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the casino, drives in the county, and out to eat. Shirley died on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Crawford County Hospital in Denison, Iowa attaining the age of 72 years, eight months, and 30 days. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; three children, David, Mark and Catherine; and one grandson, Derrick. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Pape of Dunlap, Iowa; six children, Carolyn (Norm) Andersen of Denison, Iowa, Glenn Jr. (Lori) Pape of Dunlap, Iowa, Donald (Charlene) Pape of Milo, Iowa, Brenda Garrison of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Marilyn Malone of Denison, Iowa, Kevin Pape of Denison, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; seven step grand-children; eight great grandchildren; three brothers, Leroy (Charlotte) Burbridge of Woodbine, Iowa, Larry (Betty) Burbridge of Omaha, Nebraska, Ron (Jean) Burbridge of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two sisters, Grace (Frank) Reiling of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Nancy Harmon of Pueblo, Colorado; and many other relatives and friends.
