Darlene was born in Missouri Valley, Iowa, August 28, 1928, but resided in Council Bluffs most of her life. She went to Thomas Jefferson High School. She worked for many years for Safeway retiring 25 years ago. Darlene was an active member of the following organizations; American Legion, VFW, DAV, and FOE of Eagles #38 Omaha. Her grandkids remember her best for her inspiration; generous motherly love and making them all feel very special. She will be dearly missed by friends, relatives and all who knew her. Surviving son, Robert Pulley, Santa Clarita, Calif.; best friend and companion, Ed Kosmicki; granddaughters, Darlene Sawicki, Georgetown, Mass., and Sandra Nelson, Bothel, Wash.; 5 great grandchildren; surviving sisters, Theda Pitt, Northridge, Calif., and Thelma Brunner, Council Bluffs; and surviving brother, William Glaser, San Diego, Calif. Viewing and visitation, Su! nday, January 7, 2007, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral, Monday, January 8, 2007, at 11 a.m., all at Cutler-O'Neill- Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, request donations be given to the American Diabetes Association.
