Mr. Joy apparently died in his sleep. He had suffered from heart trouble for sometime. Mr. Joy was born Jan. 22, 1906 in Harrison County, Iowa and lived most of his life in the Logan community. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. James Joy. His wife Esta, preceded him in death a number of years ago. Survivors include two sons, Richard of Harlan and Larry Joy of Council Bluffs; three grandchildren; three brothers, Atlas of Missouri Valley, Gerna of Council Bluffs, and Donald Joy of Libby, Mont., and one sister, Mrs. Dorothy McElderry, also of Libby, Mont. Funeral services will be held at the Bolton-Schumacher funeral home in Logan at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 1. Interment will be in Logan cemetery. Respectfully submitted for other researchers.
