Daily Nonpareil Council Bluffs IA July 2nd, 2004 OMAHA - Betty (Schlensig) Simon, 72, of Omaha, formerly of Dunlap, died June 30 at the Lifecare Center of America in Omaha. She loved to write poetry and has had some of her writings published. She was very family oriented and worked with the women at her church in Chicago. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Donald. Survivors include her five children, Joyce Rowold and her husband, Ron, of Lee's Summit, Mo., Donald Simon and his wife, Laura, of Barrington, Ill., David Simon and his wife, Karen, of Omaha, Glen Simon of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Paul Simon of Kansas City, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Bill Schlensig and his wife, Helen, of Omaha, Jerry Schlensig and his wife, Leola, of Alma Gorda, N.M., and Jim Schlensig of Denison; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap. The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist church in Dunlap.
