    2. Daily Nonpareil Council Bluffs IA July 28th, 2004 Merrill J. "Bud" Henry, 79, of Council Bluffs died July 26 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. He was born March 10, 1925, in Shenandoah to Orval B. and Gertrude (Brenaman) Henry. He was a 1944 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for Storz Supply Co., Union Pacific Railroad and the United States Postal Service as a mail clerk for 30 yeas, retiring in 1982. He was a member of First Baptist Church for 52 years where he served on various boards and taught Sunday school. He was a member of the Council Bluffs Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Award; Cosmopolitan Club; American Legion Post No. 2 and NARFE. Mr. Henry and his wife, Mae (Dray) Henry, were married Aug. 22, 1948. Survivors in addition to his wife include his brother, Robert M. Henry, and wife, Frances, of Titusville, Fla.; four nieces and nephews; six great nieces and nephews; nine great-great-nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Greg Krumbach of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Missouri Valley with military rites conducted by American Legion Post No. 2. A lunch will follow at First Baptist Church. Memorials may be offered to First Baptist Church.
