Daily Nonpareil Council Bluffs IA July 17th 2004 MISSOURI VALLEY - Marian M. Allmon, 80, of Missouri Valley died July 16 at Longview Care Center of Missouri Valley. She was born in Clinton County on Sept. 19, 1923, to Clarence and Margaret (Minkler) Kross. She graduated from Elvira High School in Clinton County. On Sept. 7, 1947, she married Robert Allmon in Missouri Valley, where they made their home. For nearly 30 years, she was employed by Qwest Communications, formerly known as Northwestern Bell Telephone, as a telephone operator and training operator. Her many interests included sewing, embroidery and baking, which included the sharing of recipes with co-workers. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Dennis. Survivors include her husband; one brother, Clarence; two sisters, Kate Kurth of Savanna, Ill., and Marjorie Dugdale of Sioux City; nieces and nephews. Visitation begins at noon today at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley with a wake service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Missouri Valley. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
