Rex was born March 6, 1922 in Raglan Township to Rex G. and Maebelle C. (Logan) Coffman. He graduated from Magnolia High School with the class of 1938. He served in the U.S. Army infantry during World War II, from 1943 until 1946. Rex lived around the Magnolia area all of his life. He was a longtime farmer. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, and the American Legion, where he served as adjutant from 1975 until 2004, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.). Rex was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Rosemary Jean McFee. Survivors include his nieces, Kim McFee and her husband, Dan McGregor, Huntington Beach, Calif., Susan McFee, Mesa, Ariz.; nephews, Michael McFee and his wife, Debbie, Fremont, Neb., Don McFee and his wife, Cheryl, Omaha; five great-nieces and nephews. Masonic Services were conducted Sept. 1 at Logan Memorial Chapel by Valley Lodg! e No. 232, A.F. & A.M., Missouri Valley. Funeral Services were held Sept. 2 at the funeral home, Pastor Marv Siems, officiant. Organist was Leota Mether, vocalist was Corrine Tupper. Casket bearers were Mark McFee, Eugene Michael, John Lamberson, Larry Wallis, Gene Jacobson and Brent Pohlmann. Interment was in Magnolia Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the V.F.W.
