Funeral services were held Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Missouri Valley with Pastor Gerald Firby officiating. Organist was Barb Sherer and vocalist David Dickinson. Selections were, "Amazing Grace" and "In the Garden." Honorary casket bearer was Richard Walentine. Casket bearers were Freddy Turner, David Klutts, Lynn Kline, Dean Fuller, Kelly Turner and Devin Walentine. Final resting place was Oaklawn Cemetery in Oakland. Peggy was born April 22, 1951 in Council Buffs to Donald and Barbara (Olesen) Turner. She attended and graduated in 1969 from the Oakland High School in Oakland. Peggy attended Iowa State and graduated in 1973 with a degree in communications. She was employed with WOWT in Omaha, Neb. She attended Buena Vista College and attained her teaching degree. Peggy taught school in the Omaha Public Schools and the Missouri Valley Public Schools, where she taught special education in the middle school. She attended Dana College in Blair, Neb. Where she earned her masters degree. Peggy enjoyed her dogs, cooking, decorating for the holidays and riding in the Model A Club. Survivors include her son Garrett Klutts and wife Melissa of Missouri Valley; mother Barbara Huff of Oakland; sister Debby Walentine and husband Richard of Ft. Calhoun, Neb.; brothers Fred Turner of Omaha, Neb., Kelly Turner and wife Dawn of Oakland; many nieces and nephews. The Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley was in charge of the arrangements.
